About the Webinar

Supporting a child’s emotional wellbeing starts with understanding what may be happening beneath the surface. In this practical, parent-focused webinar led by our Principal Psychologist for the Mid-West Region, Dr Trisha McMahon, we will explore emotional regulation in neurodivergent children, including why some children can become overwhelmed more easily and how differences in sensory processing, communication, expectations and everyday demands can affect how they feel and cope.

The session will look at practical, neurodiversity-affirming ways parents can support emotional wellbeing, respond when their child is overwhelmed and help children develop a greater sense of safety, connection and confidence.

It is designed for parents and caregivers of autistic and otherwise neurodivergent children, as well as families who may be beginning to wonder whether their child experiences the world differently.
